Education, Recreation & Performance

From children to seniors, beginners to elite competitors, the YMCA of South Collier covers the whole court. Lessons, leagues, tournaments, social events and certified / experienced professionals to help you start or sharpen your game.

The YMCA Tennis Center is one of the finest of its kind for education, recreation and performance. We offer 11 Har-Truv that are all lighted for night play.

Tennis is included in every YMCA membership. All members can reserve free court time, enjoy complimentary use of the ball machine, attend social events, and benefit from member rates for clinics and instruction. Members also may take part in weekly round robins and represent the YMCA in competitive League play hosted by the USTA, CTA, Ultimate Tennis and others.


YMCA offers a team of certified tennis instructors who specialize in providing a great educational environment for anyone seeking to learn and enjoy tennis. Stroke mechanics, strategy, mental and physical approaches are explained to increase the enjoyment and success of all who wish to learn. Private lessons, group lessons and clinics available.

Private lessons: Individualized and scheduled to meet your goals and availability.

Beginner Clinic 2.5 – 3.0: A 90 minute clinic which covers the foundations of the game perfect for those who are beginning or returning to the sport after time away.

Intermediate Clinic 3.5 – 4.0: A 90 minute clinic which moves players from strokes to strategy, while teach in the best ways to put together a winning plan through games and drills.

Advanced Clinic 4.0+: A 90 minute high energy game based clinic which will provide the advanced player a chance to enjoy putting their game to the test against others.

Doubles Clinic 3.0+: A 90 minute clinic which will focus on Doubles game play includes movement, techniques, and strategies for those who work with a partner or without to be a winner.

Tennis Conditioning: A calorie burning workout which combines tennis specific fitness and on court hitting.

Junior Development Programs

Our programs provide growing athletes the perfect foundation of skills and focus to help them learn. Using this tiered, skill based, progressive program will move players ages 3-18, through all the phases of tennis development preparing for high level play, while fostering a love of the game and a focus on physical fitness, coordination, mental discipline and valuable life skills.

After School Tennis Program

Our Afterschool Tennis Program combines all aspects of tennis into a unique comprehensive training program for all ages and levels. Our methods focus on all aspects of mental and physical fitness, technique, strategy, and ultimately matchplay. Learn More

Age/Skilled Based Programs Include:

Tiny Champions (3-4), Little Champions (5-11), Future Champions (8-12) and Junior Champions (12-18). Each group is taught to their skill level, providing coaches to guide those starting in the game up through USTA competitive tournament players. All ages 3-17 have a place to develop their skills, to meet friends and to have a great time learning and enjoying the lifetime sport of tennis. Saturday Beginner Tennis Program

The perfect introduction to the lifetime sport of tennis for children ages 5-9 years old. Sign your child up for this four session introduction which will start them learning the fundamentals, including the fitness, mental, social and athletic aspects of tennis. Through fun games, drills and play, your child will develop coordination, focus and confidence and the basics. Learn More

Spring & Winter Break Tennis Camps

The best in junior tennis development is now a part of the YMCA program. Children can excel from the very first ball they hit up through tournament play. Come enjoy a full week experience taking our afterschool training to a half day camp format. Tennis, fitness, fundamentals, strategy, mental focus and fun!
